Bolzano, Capital of South-Tirol

Bolzano: A steep climb up to a beautiful frescoed 14th century castle, then down to the city below, a wonderful organ concert in the cathedral, lots of illuminated Christmas trees, gluhwein (it was cold), a convivial supper with delicious local products, a go on the wheel with views of the sun rising over the surrounding mountains, traditional wooden chalets selling golden orbs, fairy lights, artisan products,  gnomes with tall red hats (obviously the current fad), glowing Christmas decorations, spicy soaps, felt slippers, carved objects, garlands made from fresh myrtle leaves and berries, speck, cheese, canederli, many assorted breads, etc., lovely elegant buildings around the main square, we fell onto the bus happy, lots of shopping done, a wonderful trip! Thanks to all the organizers!
